Lounge

Orders & executionTrueTrader

The Lounge is a chat space within the TrueTrader community set aside for talk, questions, and speculative setups, as distinct from actual filled trades. "Speculative" here just means ideas that haven't necessarily been acted on yet, someone thinking out loud about a stock that looks interesting, rather than a report of a trade that has already gone in.

It works alongside a second space, often called the Member Floor, which is reserved strictly for posts about live trades, meaning entries and exits that a member has actually executed. The Lounge takes everything else: "why is this stock moving," "what do you think of this setup," general questions from members who already know the basics, and chatter that doesn't belong mixed in with real trade records.

The nuance beginners miss is that the Lounge is not a signal service. A trade idea posted there is someone's opinion or a possibility they're watching, not a recommendation, and it hasn't been confirmed as an actual position. Treating Lounge talk as instructions to copy is a common early mistake; the whole point of separating it from the Member Floor is to keep hypothetical discussion clearly apart from what people have actually done with their own money.

In practice, a new member reads the Member Floor to see real, filled trades with real reasoning, and uses the Lounge to ask questions, watch unfolding ideas, and get a feel for how experienced traders think before a trade is even placed.

Why it matters on the desk

A day trader needs to know which channel is showing confirmed, executed trades and which is showing raw ideas still being debated, because reacting to a Lounge comment as if it were a filled trade can lead to chasing a price that was never actually entered.

An example

A member posts in the Lounge, "Watching XYZ, it's holding above 42.50 and could break to 44 if volume picks up." No trade has been placed yet. Later, if that member actually buys the breakout, the filled entry and eventual exit get posted separately on the Member Floor, with the price actually paid and the reasoning at the time of the fill.
